Children at Hamp Community Junior School were filmed for the specialist channel Teacher’s TV this week. Somerset Music Teacher Alan King was filmed delivering a Samba lesson that he teaches weekly at the school.

The crew is making a special programme about the Government-funded Wider Opportunities project which provides free class music tuition, and has chosen Somerset as a successful case study.

Madeleine Casson, Assistant Director of Somerset Music who is responsible for Wider Opportunities, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for the children to show what they have learned and demonstrate the value of the Wider Opportunities Scheme. It is opening up access to music for children all over the county, and I’m glad teachers across the country will be able to see how well we are doing.”
