Hamp Community Junior School caters for children from 7-11 years of age (Years 3 – 6). The school has around 200 pupils arranged into four year groups, with two classes for each of the year groups. We also have a Nurture Group which caters for pupils in Years 3 and 4 and occasionally for pupils in Years 5 and 6. The school was opened in 1952 and celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2002. In 2001 we had two new classrooms, an ICT suite, a new staffroom, a new Special Needs room and new cloakrooms and staff toilets built. In 2005 the hall, reception, offices and a new stock room were all upgraded. Then 2007 saw the upgrading of two classrooms and the children’s toilets completely refurbished, as well as the building of a new Nurture Unit and two classrooms to replace old Elliott classrooms. Then in 2008 the last three old classrooms were refurbished.
