Community Junior School caters for children from 7-11 years of age.
The school has around 250 pupils arranged into four streamed year
groups, with one year 3 class and a Nurture group, three classes
in Year 4 & 5, and two classes in Year 6. We also have a Nurture
Group which caters mainly for pupils in Years 3 and 4 and occasionally
for pupils in Years 5 and 6. The school was opened in 1952 and celebrated
it's Golden Jubilee in 2002. In 2001 we had two new classrooms,
an ICT suite, a new staffroom, a new Special Needs room and new
cloakrooms and staff toilets built. In 2005 the hall, reception,
offices and a new stock room were all upgraded. The 2007 sees the
upgrading of two classrooms and the building of a new Nurture Unit
and two classrooms.
